PILOT LINE

PILOT LINE

SSOLVE

Solution Spinning Optimized Laboratory Versatile Equipment.

The new laboratory line exploits MAE’s long experience in the design and manufacture of equipment and complete industrial and pilot plants for fibre production by solution spinning.
Continuous production is possible thanks to a spinning pump. Thanks to a dissolution tank, big enough to feed the spinning line continuously, it is possible to run the lab line for 8 – 10 hours, without any dead time connected to the loading of piston spinning cylinders. An optional additional dope dissolution tank could extend the working time without stopping the production.

DPU

DOPE PREPARATION
UNIT

The Dope Preparation Unit is the system used for preparation and supply of spinning solutions (dopes). It is mainly consisting of:

  • Dope preparation vessels (two interchangeable stainless steel jacketed vessels, with flanged cover, stirring unit with variable rpm, nozzle with plug for feeding, connection for inert gas blanketing and bottom valve)
  • Vacuum pump for degassing
  • Vacuum vessel
  • Dedicated thermo-regulating unit for heating/cooling each preparation vessel
  • Dedicated pressure regulator

SCS

Spinning & coagulation system

The Spinning and Coagulation System is suitable for Wet Spinning and Air Gap (Dry Jet) Wet Spinning methods. It is mainly consisting of:

  • Spinning pump (including driving system with motor and reducer)
  • Dope filter and heat exchanger
  • Spinneret arm for Wet Spinning and Air Gap (Dry Jet) Wet Spinning
  • Set of spin packs and spinnerets
  • Coagulation bath basin made of stainless steel, insulated and equipped with transparent covers, complete with connection to suction system to avoid vapours emissions
  • Immersed rod, easily removable to facilitate the start-up operations
  • Take-up rolls made of stainless steel for extraction of yarn from the bath and feeding the washing section
  • Coagulation Solution Circulation System with net filter, circulation pump, concentration control loop and thermo-regulating unit; flowrate is controlled by manual valve and rotameter.

Piston spinning for limited dope deliveries is available in lieu of spinning pump.

CR

COLD ROLL

The Cold Roll is a driven, partially immersible roll that, when straight pins are engaged, is perfectly horizontal to perform standard tow immersion washing. The same roll, without straight pins, can be oriented by setscrews to a maximum inclination angle of 7° both vertically and horizontally. That inclined set-up, allows multiwrap washing or drawing of the tow.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Roll
  • Versatile support box
  • Permanent magnet synchronous gear motor

NR

NIP ROLL

The Nip Roll can be fixed on the same support box of a cold roll to squeeze the tow from the excess of water solution or prevent the starting of tow slippages. The roll can be lifted up with a maximum rotation angle of 30°. It can be fitted in various positions, according to the process needs.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Roll coated with EPDM rubber
  • Support
  • Elastic pin
  • Pneumatic cylinder

WBFS

WASHING BASIN & FEEDING SYSTEM

The Washing Basin and Feeding System can be foreseen to feed hot water to the spraying system and to collect water-solvent solutions to be discharged.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Basin made of stainless steel and insulated
  • Electric heater
  • Spraying System
  • Connection piping and instruments

DBCS

DRAWING BASIN & CIRCULATION SYSTEM

The Drawing Basin and Circulation System can be foreseen to collect water-solvent solutions and to recirculate them back to the basin.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Basin made of stainless steel and insulated
  • Net filter
  • Circulation pump
  • Electric heater
  • Connection piping and instruments.

HR

HOT ROLL

The function of the Hot Roll is to dry, collapse or heat set the fiber yarn. For example, the tow emerging from Washing Basin either before or after Kiss Roll Unit has to be dried. The Hot Roll is a heated roll with a permanent magnet synchronous motor controlled by an inverter, connected to a speed reducer. Each roll is equipped with a temperature control system. When straight pins
are engaged, it is perfectly horizontal to perform drying of multiple tows. The same roll, without straight pins, can be oriented by setscrews to a maximum inclination angle of 7° both vertically and horizontally. This inclined set-up, allows multiwrap heating of the tow.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Roll
  • Static roll heating system
  • Versatile support box
  • Permanent magnet synchronous gear motor

LSSM

LABORATORY
STEAM STRETCHING MACHINE

The Laboratory Steam Stretching Machine heats the tow with pressurized saturated steam and can be opened to string-up.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Steam box Steam feeding system
  • Suction fan
  • Condensate separator
  • Protections
  • Frame

LSRM

LABORATORY
STEAM RELAXING MACHINE

The Laboratory Steam Relaxing Machine heats the tow with steam: the result is the relaxation of the fibres. The oven can be opened during string-up.
It is mainly consisting of:

  • Steam box
  • Steam feeding system
  • Suction fan (common with steam stretching oven, if foreseen)
  • Condense separator (common with steam stretching oven, if foreseen)
  • Protections
  • Frame

KRU

KISS ROLL UNIT

  • The Kiss Roll Unit can be foreseen to put the finish on the tow. It includes a finish applicator, complete of a circulation system.
    It is mainly consisting of:
  • Finish applicator (ceramic coated roll)
  • Finish applicator basin
  • Upper tank (which feeds by gravity the finish solution to the Kiss Roll)
  • Circulation System with net filter, pump and make-up tank (inside the tank there is a coil fed by water to avoid circulation solution overheating)
